Girls Tennis Sectional Information

Next Wednesday May 20th the Girls Tennis Team will start their tournament run as the compete in the 2015 IHSAA Sectional. Opening round matches will be held on the 20th starting at 4:45 at Delta High School. Muncie Central, Muncie Burris, and Yorktown will also be competing for this title. Short-Handed JV Tennis Team Still Competes Well

Facing long odds, the JV girls’ tennis team almost pulled off a big surprise in the East Noble JV Invitational on Saturday. Eight of the top nine Eagles were unable to attend the invitational due to Prom.  But that didn’t seem to slow down the team much. In the opening round, Delta beat Fairfield 4-1.

In a showdown of undefeated Hoosier Heritage Conference girls tennis teams, Delta defeated Pendleton Heights 3-2 on Thursday night to clinch at least a share of the league title. Tennis Team Picks Up Road Wins over State-Ranked Teams

The girls’ tennis team showed physical and mental toughness by gaining back-to-back road victories over state-ranked opponents on Wednesday and Thursday. First, the Eagles traveled to 11th-ranked Marion and topped the Giants 4-1, giving Marion its only home-court loss this season. Some clutch singles play by senior Maggie Thompson and dominant doubles performances helped the Eagles’ girls’ tennis team win the Delta Invitational on a sunny and warm Saturday. Rain Cancels Tourney; Tennis to Play in Indy Instead

Rain has resulted in the cancellation of the annual Crawfordsville Girls’ Tennis Invitational today (Saturday, April 25).
