The boys’ tennis team gained three more victories on Saturday to win the 8-team Delta Invitational.
The Eagles topped Muncie Burris 5-0, then beat Lake Central 5-0, and finally ended a long day of tennis by beating Richmond 3-2.
No. 1 singles player Tanner Southerland, a junior, enjoyed a big day with three wins over strong opponents. He knocked off Burris standout freshman Charlie Behrman in the opening round, 5-7, 6-2, (10-6). He beat Lake Central 6-3, 6-4 in the middle round, then edged Richmond standout junior Kyle Hollingsworth 7-6, 7-6 in the championship round.
No. 3 singles player Daniel Vencel also went 3-0 on the day.
Doubles players Jaigen Glaze, Walker Boyle, Devin McKinley and Riley Windsor were 2-0 in varsity matches Saturday.

Richmond’s George Dickman was chosen as the event’s sportsmanship plaque winner.
Delta, ranked 23rd, improved to 15-3 for the season. The Eagles will host Mt. Vernon (15-1) at 4:30 p.m. Monday for Senior Night. Both teams are 6-0 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference so the league title will be on the line.
Seniors Daniel Vencel, Mason Knight, Cade Brown, Jaigen Glaze and Devin McKinley will be honored prior to the match.
