Tuttle places at Freshmen/Sophomore Wrestling State
Delta’s sophomore Dillon Tuttle and freshman Jackson King both competed in the Wrestling Freshman – Sophomore State Finals this weekend at Southport High School.
Only freshman/sophomore wrestlers who are IHSAA Semi State qualifiers are automatically entered into this tournament. All other wrestlers must wrestle in a pre qualification tournament in order to qualify.
Jackson King did just that by placing 6th in the Indy Nationals.
Tuttle automatically was entered because of his IHSAA semi state qualification @ 132 this year.
Both wrestlers entered the State tournament at 132 lbs.
King started at the bottom of the bracket wrestled hard but went 1-2 on the first day of the 2 day event.
Tuttle starting at the top of the bracket plowed his way through his opponents going 3-0 for the day placing himself in the semi finals for Sunday competition.
Tuttle came in Sunday battling hard and won his semi final round but fell in the final championship round to his Centerville opponent.
Tuttle ended the day runner-up overall in the Freshman-Sophomore State Finals in the 132 lbs weight class!
