Eagles News · Wrestling team takes down Huskies

Delta wins last dual!

The Eagles traveled to Husky country last evening to take on Hamilton Hieghts in Delta’s last wrestling dual of the season.

Going into the dual Delta was short two of its star varsity wrestlers 126 Payne Blackburn and 132
Dillon Tuttle due to injuries.

Despite their absence Delta came out strong starting at 138lbs and lead the team score until the Eagles forfeited at 220 lbs.
The Huskies battled hard and took the lead at that point and the team scores went back and forth in each ones favor until the final match.

Delta was down by one point 33-34 going into the final match of the night at 132lbs.

The last match and fate of a Delta victory came upon the shoulders of a JV freshman
Jackson King, a fill in for the injured Dillon Tuttle.
Jackson came out strong and scored a takedown on Landon Steel of Hamilton Hieghts in the first period giving Jackson a 2-0 lead going into the second period.
In the second period, from the down position, Jackson hit a reversal and secured a fall sealing the team victory for the Eagles!
