Multiple Teams · Delta Baseball Weekend Recap

Delta Varsity dropped 2 incredibly close games to a very talented Greenfield Central team Friday night.  Greenfield, after the 2 victories, is now 8-1 on the season.  Game 1 score was 1-0 and Game 2 score was 5-4.   The Eagles were competitive throughout the entire night, with multiple chances to swing the game in their favor, but kept coming up short.   In game 1 Jake Van Pelt pitched a brilliant complete game, but came up short as the tough luck loser.  Van Pelt threw 7 innings, allowed 2 hits, walked zero, and struck out 8.  His record is now 0-1  on the season.

Game 1 Winning Pitcher- Drey Jameson

Game 1 Losing Pitcher- Jake Van Pelt

In game 1 Brady Pease and Adisyn Coffey tallied the only hits for the Eagles.

Game 2 was a wild back and forth affair that ended in the bottom of the 9th on a Greenfield Central 2 run home-run.  Drey Jameson was an Eagle killer on the night as it was him who launched the homerun in the first game and the second to provide the offense G.C. would need to secure the 2 wins.

In game 2 the Eagles offense was better as Haynes  and Van Pelt both provided 2 hits.  Other Eagles who had a hit were Aiden Hinds, Wes Woodin, Andrew Shafer, Jadon Henry, and Jonah Haley.

Game 2 Winning Pitcher- Bradley McDowell

Game 2 Losing Pitcher- Andrew Shafer (0-2)

Delta Varsity travels to Elwood on Wednesday for a 5:00 start.
